The honest number is the real all-in monthly cost of a home, not just principal and interest. It includes property taxes, homeowners insurance, any HOA, and PMI, calculated at your rate and your down payment. It travels with every home, so you can be curious about a town you've never heard of, because the math comes with it. Estimates are always marked.

Every home is weighed on more than 200 signals, the home and the whole life around it, from safety and walkability to nature, transit, and local character, then scored by models we built in-house and ranked into one pool across every town we cover. Homes over your budget are never shown. We'd rather bring back the handful that deserve your attention than another thousand listings.

Does Homestead try to sell me a home?

No. We help you decide, we never persuade. Sometimes the right answer is buying, sometimes waiting, sometimes a town nobody typed into a search box. There's no fake urgency and no fabricated reviews. Our measure is whether you look back years later and feel you chose well.

We kept wondering about the homes we weren't seeing. The neighborhoods we'd never heard of. The towns just beyond the edge of the map we'd drawn around the search. What if the best place for a life simply wasn't somewhere we knew to look?

The tools hadn't changed in years: thousands of listings, a handful of filters, and the hope that you can piece it all together yourself. Choose a city. Pick a budget. Start scrolling. We didn't want more listings; we wanted better ones. Places chosen for the life around them: the morning walk, the neighborhood café, nature close by, and enough financial room to actually enjoy all of it.
